Looking for Laser Hair Removal Near Monument? 7 Things to Check Before You Book
Searching for laser hair removal around Monument, Bank or the City of London gives you plenty of options.
That is useful, but it also makes choosing the right clinic harder.
Price matters, and so does location, but neither tells you whether the treatment is right for your skin, what machine is being used, who will be carrying out your treatment or what happens if your skin reacts differently than expected.
If you work or live around Monument, Bank, Cannon Street, Fenchurch Street or London Bridge, here are seven things worth checking before you book.
1. Ask exactly which laser machine the clinic uses
"Laser hair removal" does not mean every clinic is using the same equipment.
Different systems use different wavelengths, treatment methods and cooling systems. This matters because your skin tone, hair colour, hair thickness and treatment area can all affect which settings are suitable.
At Laser Me Out, we use the Alma Soprano Titanium.
The system combines three laser wavelengths - 755nm, 810nm and 1064nm - in one applicator. Alma also uses continuous cooling through its ICE Plus system during treatment.
So when comparing clinics in the City, don't just ask:
"Do you offer laser?"
Ask:
"What machine will actually be used on me?"
That is a much more useful question.
2. Check whether the treatment is suitable for your skin and hair
A good consultation should be about suitability, not simply getting you onto a treatment package.
Laser works by targeting pigment within the hair. Dark, pigmented hair generally responds better than white, grey, very blonde or some red hair because there is more pigment available for the laser to target. Modern laser systems can treat a broad range of skin tones, but settings still need to be selected correctly for the individual.
This is especially important if you have:
- darker or melanin-rich skin
- recently tanned skin
- sensitive skin
- hormonal hair growth
- PCOS
- previous laser experience with poor results
- medication or health changes since your last session
Your consultation should include questions about these things before treatment starts.
3. Make sure there is a proper consultation and patch test
A patch test is not just an extra appointment added to your diary.
It gives the therapist a chance to assess how a small area of your skin responds before treating a much larger area.
NHS laser guidance describes patch testing before a full course so the skin response can be assessed and treatment suitability checked.
At your consultation, you should also have the chance to discuss:
- your medical history
- medication
- previous laser treatments
- recent sun exposure
- the areas you want treated
- realistic treatment expectations
- preparation before each appointment
- aftercare
If you feel rushed through this part, ask more questions before committing.
4. Don't choose on price alone
The City of London has everything from low-cost individual sessions to larger treatment packages.
That makes price comparison useful, but it should not be the only comparison.
A cheap session can become expensive if you need to start again elsewhere because the treatment was unsuitable, inconsistent or carried out using equipment that was not right for you.
Instead, compare what you actually receive:
- What machine is being used?
- Is there a consultation?
- Is patch testing included?
- How long is your appointment?
- Who performs the treatment?
- What happens if your skin or medication changes?
- Is aftercare explained?
- Can you contact the clinic after the session if you are concerned?
Think about the full course rather than only the cost of the first appointment.
5. Check who is treating you
Laser is not something you should feel awkward asking questions about.
Ask about the therapist's laser training and experience, especially if you have darker skin, hormonal hair growth or have had problems with laser elsewhere.
It is also worth knowing that laser and other special treatments can be subject to local licensing requirements.
The City of London operates a massage and special-treatment licensing system, and its published fee schedule specifically includes licences covering laser treatment.
That is another reason to choose an established treatment setting rather than treating laser like a quick beauty add-on.
6. Look at whether the clinic actually fits your routine
A course of laser hair removal requires more than one appointment.
Consistency matters, so location becomes much more important after session one.
If you work in the City, think about where the clinic sits in relation to places you already travel through.
Our Monument clinic is at:
Laser Me Out Monument
36 St Mary at Hill
London
EC3R 8DU
It is close to Monument and within the wider Bank, Cannon Street and Fenchurch Street area.
That means you can choose appointments around work rather than repeatedly crossing London for every session.
You may have seen our separate guide on fitting laser into your lunch break. But convenience is not only about short appointments. It is about choosing somewhere you can realistically return to throughout your course.
7. See what the clinic is actually like before booking
Websites can tell you the machine name, treatment list and prices.
Sometimes you simply want to see the place.
We recently filmed inside our new Monument clinic so you can see the treatment setting and location before coming in.

If you are comparing laser clinics around Monument or Bank, seeing the actual clinic can help you decide whether it feels like somewhere you would be comfortable returning to for your appointments.
Questions worth asking any laser clinic
Before booking, ask:
Which laser machine do you use?
Get the actual make and model rather than just "diode laser" or "laser hair removal".
Is it suitable for my skin tone?
Your therapist should assess you individually.
Do I need a patch test?
Ask what the clinic's process is before your first full treatment.
How many sessions am I likely to need?
Be cautious of anyone promising an exact result before assessing your hair.
How should I prepare?
You should receive clear instructions before treatment.
What happens if I tan or start medication?
Tell your clinic about changes before your next session.
Who will carry out my treatment?
You should feel comfortable asking about training and experience.
What aftercare should I follow?
You should leave knowing exactly what to do and what to avoid.
Monument, Bank or Cannon Street - choose the clinic, not just the postcode
Being close to work is useful.
But the clinic five minutes away is only convenient if you also trust the people treating you and understand what is being used on your skin.
Compare the machine. Ask about your consultation. Check the patch-test process. Ask who will treat you. Understand your treatment plan.
Then consider the postcode.
If you're looking for laser hair removal around Monument, Bank or the City of London, you can book a consultation with Laser Me Out at our Monument clinic and speak with one of our therapists before deciding on your treatment plan.
