Why Is a Laser Clinic Selling a Razor?
Why Is a Laser Clinic Selling a Razor?
It sounds backwards, Laser Me Out helps people reduce unwanted hair, so why have we made our own razor? Because during a laser hair removal course, shaving is still part of the process. You may shave less as your treatment progresses, but before each appointment, you still need to prepare the area properly.
A poor shave can leave your skin red, sore or covered in razor bumps. That is not how you want to arrive for a laser session. So we made a razor designed with laser preparation in mind. Meet the Laser Razor.
Why do you need to shave before laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal targets pigment in the hair beneath the skin. The laser energy heats the hair follicle to help reduce future growth.
This is why you should avoid waxing, threading, plucking and epilating during your course. These methods remove the hair from the root, leaving less for the laser to target. Shaving only cuts the hair above the skin, while keeping the root in place.
We normally recommend shaving the treatment area around 24 hours before your appointment. This gives your skin time to settle and reduces the amount of hair sitting above the surface during treatment.Over a course of six, eight or more sessions, that can mean a lot of shaving, especially when treating larger areas such as the legs, bikini line, underarms, back or full body.
The razor you use matters.
What can happen when you use the wrong razor?
A blunt blade, fixed head or poor grip can make shaving harder than it needs to be.
You may experience:
- Redness and soreness
- Razor bumps
- Shaving rash
- Small cuts
- Ingrown hairs
- Extra friction on sensitive areas
If your skin is badly irritated, your therapist may need to avoid certain parts of the treatment area until the skin has settled.
Your razor should help you prepare for your appointment, not create another problem before you arrive.
What makes the Laser Razor different?
The Laser Razor was made to give clients more comfort and control when preparing for treatment.
Five stainless steel blades
The five-blade head helps spread pressure across the skin, allowing for a close shave without repeatedly going over the same area.
Fewer passes can mean less unnecessary friction, especially on areas that are already sensitive.
Moisture lubrication surround
The blade head has a moisture lubrication surround designed to help it move more smoothly across the skin.
This helps reduce dragging and makes it easier to shave areas such as the bikini line, underarms and face.
Pivoting head
Bodies are not flat.
The pivoting head moves with the curves of the body, helping the blades stay in contact with the skin around areas such as the knees, ankles, underarms and bikini line.
Soft rubber grip
The ergonomic handle has a soft rubber grip, giving you better control when the razor or your hands are wet.
This is especially useful when shaving harder-to-reach areas.
Two blade refills included
Each pack contains:
- One reusable handle
- Two blade refills
You can replace the blade once it becomes dull without replacing the full handle.
Laser Razor compared with a basic disposable razor

Not every disposable razor is the same, but basic razors often lack the grip, movement and lubrication needed for careful full-body preparation.
How to use the Laser Razor before your appointment
Shave around 24 hours before treatment
Avoid leaving it until the morning of your appointment. Giving the skin time to settle can help reduce visible redness and sensitivity.
Use warm water or a gentle shaving gel
Warm water can soften the hair and help the razor move more comfortably.
For sensitive skin, use a simple, fragrance-free shaving gel.
Shave in the direction of hair growth first
Start by shaving in the same direction as the hair grows.
On less sensitive areas, you may go against the direction afterwards for a closer finish, but stop if your skin feels uncomfortable.
Do not press too hard
Let the blades and pivoting head do the work. Pressing harder can increase friction and the chance of cuts.
Rinse the blade as you shave
Hair and shaving products can collect between the blades. Rinse the head regularly to keep it clear.
Replace dull blades
Do not keep using a blade that pulls at the hair or feels rough against the skin.
A dull blade usually requires more pressure and more passes, which can increase irritation.
Keep the area product-free on the day
After shaving, you can use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser or aloe vera gel.
Before your appointment, make sure the area is clean and free from:
- Moisturiser
- Oils
- Deodorant
- Perfume
- Fake tan
Where can you buy the Laser Razor?
The Laser Razor is available from Laser Me Out. Ask the reception team during your consultation or next appointment at our Marylebone or Birmingham clinic. Each pack includes one handle and two blade refills, giving you everything you need to prepare for your upcoming sessions.
Why did we make it?
We did not make a razor because we want you to keep shaving forever. We made it because shaving is part of laser preparation, and using the right razor can make that process easier on your skin. As your course progresses and your hair growth reduces, you should find yourself reaching for it less often. A razor designed to help you prepare properly, until you no longer need to shave as much.
That is why a laser clinic sells a razor.

Changes I would make before publishing
Use Laser Razor everywhere, as that is the name printed on the packaging. Add the price near the buying section, include a clean product shot without a hand covering the box, and place the comparison table beside a close-up of the razor head. The strongest blog image would show the razor, handle and both refills outside the packaging.
