Why you need more than one session

Your hair doesn't all grow at once. Individual hairs move through different stages of a growth cycle, and laser treatment only works properly on hair caught in the right stage.

That's why a single appointment can't reach every follicle. A course of sessions spaced out over time catches new groups of hair as they enter the active stage. NHS guidance is clear that multiple treatments are almost always needed and that complete removal shouldn't be expected. Body-area treatments are typically spaced around six to eight weeks apart.

Six sessions is a starting course, not a promise of an identical result for everyone. Your progress can be affected by:

• Hair colour and thickness
• Skin type
• Hormonal changes
• Medical conditions and medication
• How closely you stick to appointment timing
• How well you follow preparation and aftercare
• Simple individual variation

Some people need further sessions or occasional maintenance afterwards. Your therapist will review your progress as you go and tell you honestly where you stand.

What technology do we use?

Laser Me Out uses the Soprano Titanium system.

It combines three laser wavelengths in a single applicator:

• 755nm
• 810nm
• 1064nm

These reach different depths within the hair follicle. The system also uses continuous cooling, designed to protect the skin and make treatment more comfortable.

Your settings are chosen after your therapist has assessed your skin, your hair and the area being treated — never from a default.

Does it hurt?

Comfort varies from person to person, and the intimate area is more sensitive than your arms or legs.

Most people describe warmth, or a light prickling as the applicator moves. Soprano Titanium's cooling helps considerably. But no responsible clinic should promise you'll feel nothing, and we won't.

If anything feels too hot or too uncomfortable, tell your therapist straight away. They'll adjust.

Your consultation and patch test

Before any treatment, your therapist will:

How to prepare

Your therapist will give you instructions specific to your skin and appointment date. Generally you'll need to:

• Avoid waxing, threading, plucking and epilating — these pull hair from the root, and the follicle needs to contain hair for the laser to find it
• Shave the area as instructed, usually the day before
• Avoid fake tan, and let any real tan fade before treatment
• Avoid strong sun exposure on the area
• Tell us about any medication changes
• Skip perfumed or irritating products beforehand
• Fill in your consultation forms accurately

Please don't leave out medication, medical conditions, recent tanning or skin reactions. Those details are what let your therapist decide whether it's safe to treat you.

After your session

Some warmth, redness or sensitivity is normal for a short time afterwards.

Follow the aftercare you're given. It usually means temporarily avoiding:

• Hot baths, showers, saunas and steam rooms
• Intense exercise and swimming
• Tight clothing and friction
• Perfumed or irritating products

Don't scrub, scratch or pick at treated skin.

Hair may look like it's still growing in the days afterwards. Some treated hairs shed gradually over the following days and weeks.

Will six sessions remove the hair permanently?

Laser hair removal is long-term hair reduction, not guaranteed permanent removal. We'd rather say that plainly than have you disappointed.

Most people see less growth and finer hair. Results differ between individuals, and hormonal changes can trigger new growth later — particularly in hormone-sensitive areas like this one. NHS guidance states there's no guarantee laser hair removal will remove all the hair.

Your therapist will review your progress and tell you whether further sessions or occasional maintenance would help.
