Growing up, I used to have dark underarms and always thought it was either genetic or a problem with my skin colour in that area. Coming from an Asian family, my mum obviously told me to use lemon and scrubs on them, but that did not help. Shaving and waxing didn’t do the trick either.

Being young, dumb, and broke, I never used to know much about skincare, scarring, or how to manage breakouts. I never had enough money to start my laser journey and always used to pick my spots and ingrown hairs, which resulted in post-inflammatory pigmentation and textured skin. I always felt ashamed to show my skin at the beach, and it made me feel abnormal compared to my friends, as I had loads of dark marks around my bikini area.
