Laser hair removal for PCOS
Coarse, stubborn hair on the chin, jaw, neck or stomach is one of the most common signs of PCOS, now also called PMOS. It is the reason Laser Me Out exists: our founder, Shireen, has PMOS herself, and hormonal hair is everyday work at our clinics.

Hormonal hair, honest expectations.
PCOS raises androgen levels, which can turn fine hair coarse and dark and keep new hair coming. Laser targets the pigment in each hair to stop it growing back, so over a course you see less hair, finer regrowth and fewer ingrowns.
Because hormones can keep prompting new growth, PCOS hair usually needs more sessions than average and the odd top-up. We would rather tell you that on day one than after you have paid. Ask about our PMOS membership at your consultation.

PCOS laser, answered.
Honest answers, before you book anything.
Does laser hair removal work for PCOS hair?
Yes. Laser reduces the coarse, dark hair that PCOS often causes on the chin, jaw, neck, chest and stomach. Because hormones can keep prompting new growth, many people with PCOS need more sessions than average and occasional top-ups, and we are upfront about that at your consultation.
What is PMOS?
PCOS has been renamed PMOS, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, to better reflect that it affects hormones and metabolism, not just the ovaries. It is the same condition, so everything on this page applies whichever name you know it by.
How many sessions will I need with PCOS?
Six to eight sessions is the usual range for most people. Hormonal hair often needs more, plus a top-up now and then. We look at your hair at your consultation and give you an honest estimate before you buy a course.
Which areas can you treat?
Any area. The most common for PCOS and PMOS are the upper lip, chin, jawline, neck, sideburns, chest, stomach and navel line. Pick N' Mix lets you combine any three areas in one course.
Is it safe on darker skin?
Yes. Our Soprano Titanium treats Fitzpatrick skin types I to VI and every first treatment follows a patch test. Read more about laser hair removal for dark skin.
Does laser treat PCOS itself?
No. Laser reduces unwanted hair, it does not treat the underlying condition. Please keep your GP or specialist involved in your care. Many of our clients find laser the part that finally gives them back time and confidence.
